The Jay Group hosts Town Hall Meeting for President Bush
Integrated service solutions provider The Jay Group hosted President George W. Bush at its new fulfillment center last week. The center served as a venue for a 90-minute “town hall meeting” of about 400 people, assembled by the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at which the president discussed a wide variety of subjects.
The subjects ranged from the efficacy of individual income tax cuts in cutting taxes for small businesses, to the advantage of individuals receiving a $15,000 income tax deduction to help them buy insurance, to the need to maintain the U.S. military presence in Iraq, to the West Nickle Mines Amish school shootings that occurred nearby a year ago. Bush fielded questions about the farm bill currently before Congress, peace in the Middle East, and immigration policy with characteristic humor. His overall message frequently related to the need to keep from raising taxes: “The principle is, is that tax cuts inspire investment, encourage consumption and savings. In other words, the more money you have, as opposed to the government having, the more likely it is the local economies will grow.”
The Jay Group provides marketing fulfillment services to companies that include Johnson & Johnson, iRobot, and Lindt & Sprungli Chocolate. The company’s integrated service solutions include consumer and trade fulfillment (signage, literature, promotions, and product), inbound customer service, and specialty packaging for retail and club stores. The new, 250,000-sq.-ft. corporate facility and fulfillment center is nearing completion. The Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce selected The Jay Group to host the president’s talk for its contributions to the local economy.
