I was in charge of a small 350,000 warehouse at my last job and it was a constant chore to stay on top of the warehouses flow and logistics. I wish I would have had access to a consulting expert to help me make improvements.

Hi guys,
Our busy season is spring, but we need to manufacture throughout the year in order to meet our demand. Storage of completed barrels can be incredibly expensive. We solved the problem by renting storage trailers. Folks who need to store non-perishable products may want to consider this.

'Hope the new year finds you all well.

If sales and renewals are not on the decline...why did Retail Pro default on all those loans? Why file BK? There is more to the story than you may be privy to or willing to disclose.

except that the Site to Store program is down today, at store #2044 anyway, don't know if the problem is system-wide. Store manager said it will be down 24-48 hours, can you imagine the backup in an operation the size of Walmart? They can't check items into the system after, e.g. Fedex delivers it, ergo it can't be checked out when you sign for it. Even if it's only a local problem at the one store, there is apparently no contingency plan for what to do with the incoming merchandise piling up in their finite storage space.

The global organizations all over the world have always preferred India to outsource their non-core business services. Today, outsourcing BPO services in India has almost become a norm for many global companies. In fact, BPO services are one of the fast growing segments of Information Technology Enabled Services( ITES) industry. India has constantly been able to provide the growing demand for BPO services in terms of cost effectiveness and customer support contact centers.

At Midco Contact Center we respect the opinions expressed in this article. After reading the article I was a little disappointed that the other side of the coin was not displayed. Our organization has been very successful in acting as the "voice of our partners" by effectively providing in-house client contact center services at our facility. We pride ourselves on our image of being able to work in client systems and acting as the “remote customer service department” for our clients. In this regard, we are confident that we perform as competently (or in some cases even better) as our partner clients contact center because of our extensive experience in recruiting, hiring, training and quality processes. Although I agree that an ineffective outsourcer can provide additional customer service contacts and reduced one-stop service for a client I can confidently state from experience that this is not the case with our organization.

Thank you for providing a great on-line forum for these types of discussions.

Hello Brian,

Interesting Blog post. I'm not sure if there are any single source vendors that you are talking about, especially for the SMB market. For the enterprise retailer there maybe with some companies that want to take over all the back office actions.

Seems like putting a lot of eggs in one basket, possibly unnecessarily. Better have some very strict performance guarantees with teeth and lots of Key Performance Indicators to measure the service delivery.

Watch out for data lock-in. Maybe you find this vendor, use them for a bit...don't like them...but can't extradite yourself from their clutches (Because you can't find a second source or have gotten rid of the employees that could have done it).

If you can't find this perfect vendor maybe change the criteria and look for "data compatibility" - make sure your component vendors all talk to each-other and are trusted by one another not to point fingers if there is a problem and instead buckle down and fix it.

I know Shipwire works with over 30 ecommerce shopping carts, payment systems and marketplaces so that merchants can quickly snap their e-commerce tools into our fulfillment house and get up and operating.

Cheers,

Nate

Our multi-channel company has been hosted on the ProfitCenter Software platform for some time now, its on-demand infrastructure, scalability and flexibility to match our business model was what attracted us to the platform initially and is what made it such a powerful tool for us in the rapid growth of our business over time. ProfitCenter always acted as business partner and was truly a unique “do-it-all” ERP software company. It’s no secret that they experienced some growing pains in the past just as many companies do, but they were surely headed in the right direction for the future of multi-channel commerce & marketing, hopefully another company can see the value of this modern SaaS technology and acquire PCS along with their strong & profitable active client base.
